I'm not sure if this is talked specifically somewhere, but after recently update, I just noticed Model 3's App is actually a lot better for interactions than original Model S because of Bluetooth.
Originally on Model S, you need to open your app and wait for internet connection and waiting your car to wake up from sleeping, this usually takes 45-60 seconds and internet connection, so it's inferior than just simplely using your key fob:
However, on Model 3, you can easily Lock/Unlock Frunk / door immediately with app when your car has bluetooth connection with your phone, you will notice in this screenshot, so there is no waiting for internet to do this
